Singer-songwriter and composer Anuv Jain is still processing the overwhelming emotions from his special performance on December 25 in Ludhiana, the city he proudly calls home. For the artist behind hits like Husn and Jo Tum Mere Ho, playing in familiar territory brings a unique blend of comfort and raw intensity that is hard to replicate elsewhere.
The Unmatched Feeling of a Hometown Stage
Anuv Jain believes a concert in your own city bridges the gap that typically exists between a performer and the audience. He expresses that performing in Ludhiana is the best feeling imaginable. The logistics are simpler—stepping out from home straight to the venue—but the real magic lies in the crowd.
"Seeing familiar faces in the audience and receiving their love hits you on a completely different level," Jain shares. "I grew up here. To return and play songs I once dreamt of performing while attending school in this very city means absolutely everything to me. I am profoundly grateful for this opportunity."
Live Gigs: The Ultimate Validation for a Songwriter
For Jain, live performances provide a rare and powerful validation for the often solitary act of songwriting. He highlights the irreplaceable connection formed during a concert.
"You finally get to meet thousands of the people who listen to your music," he says. "Watching them smile, or sometimes even cry, makes you realize that what you create alone in your bedroom genuinely impacts people's lives. That direct connection is, without a doubt, the best part of any live gig."
Lasting Memories and a Family Highlight
The Ludhiana show left Anuv with a treasure trove of vivid memories. He fondly recalls the handmade posters fans brought, the energetic backstage moments, and the loud cheers for his latest release Inaam and the segment from Arz Kiya Hai.
However, one moment soared above all others. "Having my family in the crowd was the absolute highlight," Anuv reveals. "This is not a common experience for me as I usually travel only with my team. My mother and relatives mostly watch my performances online on YouTube. Throughout the show, I kept glancing their way, hoping they were enjoying themselves."
With several family members, including his mother, sister, wife, and cousins, seated right at the front, the sight was surreal. "Every time I looked to the left, I saw them smiling and singing along. It was an incredibly special and surreal feeling," he adds.
Given this profound experience, it's no surprise that Ludhiana continues to hold a premier spot in his touring schedule. "It is always one of my favourite places to perform," Anuv Jain concludes, cementing the city's special place in his artistic journey.
