The holy city of Amritsar is set to resonate with devotional hymns as renowned singer Hansraj Raghuwanshi performs during 'An Evening in the Name of Lord Shiva' at the PITEX Ground, Ranjit Avenue, on Saturday. The event, jointly organized by the Sanatan Sewa Samiti Punjab and the Punjab Government’s Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, is expected to draw thousands of devotees from across the region.

Event Preparations Completed

Deputy Commissioner Dalwinderjit Singh confirmed that all preparations for the programme have been completed. The arrangements were reviewed by Adviser to the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Deepak Bali, Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Sanatan Sewa Samiti Punjab president Vijay Sharma, and other senior officials. The programme will commence at 6:30 pm, with elaborate arrangements for security, parking, drinking water, and medical assistance to ensure a hassle-free experience for devotees.

Inspiring Youth Through Devotion

Deepak Bali said the initiative aims to inspire young people to stay away from drugs and reconnect with their cultural and spiritual heritage. Stressing that the event is above politics, he said it has been organised solely for the welfare of society and appealed to people to participate in large numbers to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. Sanatan Sewa Samiti Punjab president Vijay Sharma added that entry to the event will be completely free for all devotees.

Traffic Advisory Issued

Meanwhile, the Amritsar Traffic Police have issued a special traffic advisory. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amandeep Kaur advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel on the Hartej Hospital-Gumtala Road stretch and the T-point near In-Out Bakery Road leading to the venue, where special traffic arrangements will remain in force. Residents travelling towards Ranjit Avenue have been advised to use the alternate route via Rattan Singh Chowk, MK Hotel Road, Best Western Road, and C-Market T-point. Commuters entering the city from outside have been asked to take the ITI-Anand Park route.
