The Telugu film industry is set to welcome two high-profile star kids as its newest leading pair. Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni, nephew of superstar Mahesh Babu, and Rasha Thadani, daughter of Bollywood icon Raveena Tandon, will make their acting debut together in the upcoming Tollywood film 'Srinivasa Mangapuram'. The project is directed by Ajay Bhupathi, known for his intense storytelling in films like 'RX 100' and 'Mangalavaram'.
A Director's Vision for a Unique Love Story
Speaking exclusively from the shooting location in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, director Ajay Bhupathi described the film as a love story with a distinct edge. The 39-year-old filmmaker emphasized that 'Srinivasa Mangapuram' is "not your usual love story" but rather a blend of rugged emotion and innocence. He confirmed the film adheres to his signature template and revealed he always envisioned fresh faces for these pivotal roles.
Bhupathi expressed his fortune in finding the perfect fit in Jaya Krishna and Rasha Thadani. He shared that the music, composed by GV Prakash, was finalized even before the camera started rolling. After completing the schedule in Chanderi, the team will move to Ballari in Karnataka. The film is officially slated for a 2026 release.
How the Star-Studded Cast Came Together
The casting process for the debutants had unique backstories. Interestingly, Ajay Bhupathi did not initially approach Jaya Krishna. Instead, he was approached with the question of whether he would direct the young actor's debut film. "Given Krishna garu's legacy, I feel honoured," Bhupathi stated, recalling his first meeting with Jaya where he instantly knew the newcomer was ideal for the character.
For Rasha Thadani, the decision was made much earlier. Bhupathi clarified that she was selected for the Telugu debut long before the buzz around her Hindi debut 'Azaad' or her first song went viral. He mentioned that plans for her Telugu cinema entry had been in the works earlier but didn't materialize, ultimately working out for the better with this project.
Families Extend Trust, No Interference Assured
Despite the colossal star power of their parents—Mahesh Babu and Raveena Tandon—director Ajay Bhupathi assured there has been zero interference from the families. "Nobody has gotten involved, and they trust me implicitly. In fact, Jaya's family doesn't even know the story," he revealed.
He added that the families are reportedly happy their children are launching their careers under his direction. This professional space has allowed Bhupathi to craft his narrative freely, focusing on presenting the newcomers in a film that promises to be an emotional and unconventional take on love.
