2026 Cancelled TV Shows: 'Going Dutch' to 'Watson'

The year 2026 has seen several television shows get the axe, leaving fans disappointed. From popular dramas to reality series, a mix of factors including low viewership, budget constraints, and controversies led to their cancellation. Here is a rundown of the notable shows that will not return for another season.

‘PBS News Weekend’

The weekend news program, which had a strong following, was among the first to be cancelled in 2026. Its final episode aired on January 11. Anchor John Yang explained that the show could not secure federal funding, leading to its termination.

‘Rehab Addict’

Unlike many cancellations tied to finances, ‘Rehab Addict’ ended in February after a controversial video surfaced online. The clip showed host Nicole Curtis using a racial slur during filming. Despite a nine-season run, the show was promptly cancelled. Curtis later apologized, stating, “I want to be clear: the word in question is wrong and not part of my vocabulary and never has been, and I apologize to everyone.”

‘Class’

Starring Ayesha Kanga, Anjali Sivaraman, and Chayan Chopra, ‘Class’ was a hit on OTT platforms last year. Although a second season was initially planned, those plans were abandoned by the end of the previous year. Actor Gurfateh Pirzada told Men’s Journal that life had “other plans” for the cast and crew.

‘Billionaires' Bunker’

This Spanish-language thriller series was cancelled after just one season. Despite fan anticipation for a second season following its debut, Netflix confirmed in December that the show would not be renewed.

‘Alice in Borderland’

One of the most beloved OTT shows globally, ‘Alice in Borderland’ ran for three seasons. The platform confirmed last year that the third season of the Japanese-language survival series would be its last.

‘Pop the Balloon’

The reality dating show, based on a popular YouTube series, was cancelled in February. Deadline reported that the show would not return for another season.

‘Miss Governor’

In March, Terri J. Vaughn, the lead of ‘Miss Governor’, announced that the show would not return to Netflix for a second season. She expressed heartbreak over the cancellation. The series was produced by Tyler Perry.

‘Terminator Zero’

This animated spin-off was cancelled in February. Creator Mattson Tomlin noted on social media that while critical and audience reception was strong, “not nearly enough people watched it.”

‘Watson’

The medical-mystery drama ‘Watson’, starring Morris Chestnut, was praised for its debut season but cancelled in March after two seasons.

‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’

Another spin-off from the ‘Law and Order’ franchise, ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ was axed after five seasons. The series featured Christopher Meloni, known for his role in ‘Law and Order: Special Victims Unit’.

‘The Abandons’

This Western period drama was cancelled after its first season. Variety reported in January that the show would not return for a second season.

‘The Vince Staples Show’

The comedy series ran for two seasons before being cancelled earlier this year. Both seasons remain available on Netflix.

‘Sherri’

The talk show hosted by Sherri Shepherd was cancelled after four successful seasons. PEOPLE reported in February that the decision was “driven by the evolving daytime television landscape.”

‘Going Dutch’

The American sitcom ‘Going Dutch’, led by Denis Leary, was cancelled after two seasons. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the news earlier this month, just two weeks after the second season aired.
