Star Singer contestant Shivapriya continues her golden streak on the reality show. Regardless of the round, she consistently amazes judges and viewers with her versatility. In the latest episode, Shivapriya delivered a power-packed performance of the evergreen Malayalam song 'Nenjil Kanchabanam,' originally sung by the legendary SP Balasubrahmanyam. Her improvisations and boundless energy captivated the audience.
After the performance, a surprise revelation came: the English lyrics and improvisations were crafted by mentor Swetha Ashok. Judge KS Chithra praised Shivapriya, saying, 'I am awestruck. If SPB sir were here, he would have loved it. You proved one can experiment with their voice uniquely. That octave shift was exceptional.' Chithra also congratulated Swetha for her brilliant additions.
Judge Sithara Krishnakumar added, 'Shivapriya, you are extraordinary. You left your signature in every line. If you had been evicted earlier due to issues, it would have been Star Singer's biggest loss. You are intelligent and brilliant.' Judge Vidhu Prathap noted that none of the improvisations felt out of place in the song.
KS Chithra awarded Shivapriya the much-coveted Golden Star, marking her eighth such honor. In the previous round, she won a Golden Star for her energetic performance in the 'Move It with Improvisation' round. Star Singer continues to enthrall audiences with contestants' mesmerizing performances. In prior episodes, contestants Swarna and Gayathri were evicted. Currently, eight contestants compete for the grand prize.
