Tragic Death of 7-Year-Old Boy After Stray Dog Attack in Telangana
A heart-wrenching incident has shaken the Rajanna Sircilla district in Telangana, where a seven-year-old boy lost his life after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs. The young victim, identified as Etikala Aditya, succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday night, nearly two weeks after the horrific encounter.
Details of the Fatal Incident
According to police reports, the tragedy unfolded on April 1 when Aditya was playing near his home in Thangallapally mandal. Suddenly, a pack of stray dogs began chasing the child, causing him to panic and attempt to flee to safety. In his desperate escape attempt, Aditya tripped and fell, sustaining severe head injuries. The dogs also reportedly bit his legs during the attack, compounding his trauma.
Medical Emergency and Fatal Outcome
Family members initially rushed Aditya to a local hospital for treatment. However, as his condition rapidly deteriorated, he was transferred to a private hospital in Hyderabad for advanced medical care. Doctors examining the child delivered devastating news to the family – blood had clotted in his head, and he had slipped into a deep coma.
Despite medical efforts, Aditya's health continued to decline over the following days. The young boy, who was the only son of parents Mahesh and Sangeetha, ultimately passed away in the hospital on Wednesday night, marking a profound loss for his family and community.
Police Investigation and Family's Response
Tangallapally sub-inspector Upendra Chary provided crucial insights into the aftermath of the incident. The grieving parents declined to lodge a formal police complaint regarding the attack and did not consent to a post-mortem examination of their son's body. Consequently, no official case has been registered in connection with the tragic event.
This heartbreaking case has brought renewed attention to the persistent issue of stray dog populations in urban and rural areas across India. Community safety concerns are mounting as similar incidents continue to be reported from various regions, prompting calls for more effective animal control measures and public awareness campaigns.
The death of young Aditya serves as a sobering reminder of the potential dangers posed by uncontrolled stray animal populations, particularly to vulnerable children. As investigations remain limited due to the family's wishes, the broader conversation about municipal responsibility and public safety protocols gains urgency in light of this preventable tragedy.
