Kanpur Pharmacy Graduate Dies by Suicide After Prolonged Unemployment Struggle

A tragic incident unfolded in Kanpur's Chakeri area on Tuesday, where a 38-year-old pharmacy graduate died after allegedly consuming poison. The deceased, identified as Amar Singh, was the son of retired CB-CID inspector Munnilal Singh, a resident of Ghau Kheda.

Background of the Deceased and Family Circumstances

Amar Singh had completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) course but remained unemployed for an extended period, leading to significant stress. His father, Munnilal Singh, who retired three years ago from the CB-CID headquarters in Lucknow, revealed that Amar's mother passed away just four months ago, compounding his emotional turmoil.

The family structure included Munnilal living with his son Amar, daughter-in-law Neha, 13-year-old granddaughter Kritika, while his daughter Meenu is married. According to Munnilal, Amar had recently started working for a food delivery company after failing to secure employment in his field, but the stress persisted.

Events Leading to the Tragedy

On the fateful day, Amar went to the terrace of their home, consumed poison, and then descended to bid farewell to his family members. His condition rapidly deteriorated, prompting the family to rush him to a hospital. Unfortunately, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Munnilal disclosed that Amar had become increasingly troubled after his mother's death and had begun consuming alcohol. Additionally, Amar and his associates had filed a petition in the high court regarding employment issues, with a hearing scheduled soon, highlighting his desperate search for job opportunities.

Police Investigation and Official Statements

Inspector Ajay Prakash Mishra of Chakeri police station confirmed that no suicide note was found at the scene. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death, as per standard investigative procedures.

This incident sheds light on the severe mental health challenges and employment crises faced by educated youth in India, particularly in specialized fields like pharmacy. The combination of professional setbacks and personal loss created a devastating scenario for Amar Singh, culminating in this heartbreaking outcome.

The family and community are left mourning the loss of a young man whose potential was cut short by systemic and personal struggles.
