Industrialist Mukesh Ambani's Significant Temple Visit and Philanthropic Gesture

In a significant development that blends spirituality with philanthropy, Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited, made a substantial donation of ₹15 crore to the Guruvayur Devaswom for establishing a new healthcare facility in Thrissur district.

Spiritual Journey to Guruvayur Temple

The industrialist began his spiritual journey early on Sunday morning, arriving in Guruvayur around 7:30 am via helicopter. He was formally received at the Sree Krishna College grounds by prominent Devaswom officials including Chairman Dr V K Vijayan, Administrator C Manoj, and Administrator O B Arun Kumar.

Following the welcome ceremony, Ambani was escorted to the Srivatsam Guest House where he was honored with a golden ribbon before proceeding to the famous Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple for darshan. Due to special darshan restrictions implemented on public holidays, the Reliance chief entered the temple after performing the symbolic gesture of lighting ghee lamps for 25 devotees.

Temple Rituals and Special Ceremonies

During his visit to the sacred temple, Ambani offered heartfelt prayers to Lord Guruvayurappan at the Nalambalam. The temple priest, known as melsanthi, presented him with prasadam following the prayers. The industrialist also made traditional offerings at the flagpost, including beautiful garlands, fresh fruits, and sugar as part of the religious customs.

In a gesture of appreciation and respect, the Devaswom chairman presented Ambani with sacred prasadam of Lord Guruvayurappan along with a traditional mural painting as a token of gratitude for his generous contribution.

Multi-Speciality Hospital Project Details

The ₹15 crore donation represents the first installment toward the construction of the proposed Devaswom Multi-Speciality Hospital in Thrissur district. During Ambani's visit, Devaswom officials presented a comprehensive outline of the upcoming healthcare project, highlighting its potential to serve the community with advanced medical facilities.

Additionally, temple authorities shared details concerning the temple's elephants, showcasing the broader aspects of temple management and conservation efforts that the Devaswom oversees.

Earlier Spiritual Visit to Tirumala

Prior to his Guruvayur visit, Mukesh Ambani had visited the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala, where he participated in the Suprabhata Seva and offered prayers. He was received by Additional Executive Officer Venkayya Chowdary, who arranged special darshan facilities for the industrialist.

Following the darshan, Vedic scholars performed Veda Ashirvachanam (Vedic blessings) for Ambani at the Ranganayakula Mandapam. The Additional EO presented him with theertha prasadam and a portrait of Lord Venkateswara, symbolizing divine blessings for his endeavors.

This series of temple visits and substantial philanthropic commitments demonstrates the industrialist's deep-rooted connection with spiritual traditions while simultaneously contributing to significant social infrastructure development in Kerala.
