Haryana Upgrades Govt Hospitals, 25 Lakh Get Ayushman Benefits

Haryana Government Modernizes Hospitals to Rival Private Healthcare

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini made a significant announcement on Monday. He revealed that government hospitals across the state are undergoing major upgrades. The goal is to equip them with modern facilities that can match the quality of private healthcare institutions.

Saini shared this information while inaugurating the Prem Sagar Cardiac Hospital. This new facility is located at the Vivekanand Arogya Kendra in Gurgaon. The Chief Minister emphasized the government's top priority. He stated that no individual should ever be denied medical treatment simply because they cannot afford it.

Massive Benefits from Ayushman Bharat-Chirayu Scheme

The Ayushman Bharat-Chirayu scheme is already making a huge difference in Haryana. Saini provided concrete numbers to illustrate its impact. Nearly 25 lakh patients have received benefits so far. The total value of treatment claims processed under this scheme has reached an impressive Rs 4,500 crore.

Furthermore, the state has issued a staggering 1.3 crore Ayushman cards to its residents. This ensures widespread coverage and access to healthcare services. The Chief Minister also highlighted a special provision for senior citizens. All individuals above 70 years of age receive free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh every year under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

This senior citizen benefit has already supported 26,513 elderly persons. Claims amounting to Rs 53.57 crore have been disbursed for their medical care.

District Hospitals Receive Modern Medical Facilities

The government is actively working to transform public healthcare infrastructure. Saini explained the current progress of the modernization drive. In the first phase, ten district hospitals have already started offering these advanced medical facilities. Work is now in progress to develop similar capabilities in twelve more district hospitals.

"The state has firmly committed itself to providing affordable, accessible and effective healthcare for every citizen," the Chief Minister stated. He stressed that institutions which uphold strong ethics, transparency, and public welfare are welcome partners in Haryana's health mission.

Centers like the Vivekanand Arogya Kendra are playing a crucial role. They strengthen healthcare efforts at the grassroots level by expanding modern diagnostic and treatment facilities to common people.

Gurgaon's Healthcare Landscape and Private Sector Role

Despite these advancements, Gurgaon faces a specific challenge. The city, which generates maximum revenue for the state, is still waiting for the construction of a full-fledged civil hospital. Currently, Gurgaon remains largely dependent on private healthcare providers for its medical needs.

Chief Minister Saini acknowledged the importance of the private sector. He said, "The role of the private sector in diagnostics and medical services is also extremely important for citizens." The government's approach appears to be a blend of strengthening public facilities while recognizing the existing contribution of private institutions.

The overarching message from the Haryana government is clear. They are determined to ensure that no poor citizen is deprived of treatment due to a lack of funds. The modernization of government hospitals and the expansion of health schemes are central to this mission.
