Kasturba Hospital Manipal Launches Monthly Integrated Liver and Transplant Clinics

In a significant move to enhance advanced liver care accessibility for residents of Udupi and surrounding regions, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, has announced the continuation of its Integrated Liver and Transplant Clinic. The next session is scheduled from 10 am to 4 pm on February 3, with plans to hold these clinics on the first Tuesday of every month going forward.

Specialized Services for Comprehensive Liver Health

This initiative aims to provide specialized liver and transplant services locally, eliminating the need for patients to undertake long-distance travel for critical care. The clinic focuses on enabling early diagnosis, expert evaluation, and continuity of care for individuals dealing with various liver conditions. Following the successful launch of the Manipal Integrated Liver & Transplant Clinic last month, this monthly program is set to become a regular feature, offering sustained support to the community.

Expert-Led Care Team

The clinic is spearheaded by a team of renowned medical professionals, including Dr Jayanth Reddy, lead consultant for HPB & liver and pancreatic transplant, and Dr Deepthi Ramachandra, consultant in the same specialty, both from Manipal Hospital, Old Airport Road, Bengaluru. They collaborate closely with Dr Ganesh Bhat, Head of the Department of Gastroenterology, and Dr Shiran Shetty, professor and unit head in the Department of Gastroenterology at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal. This multidisciplinary approach ensures comprehensive and coordinated care for all patients.

Comprehensive Range of Liver Conditions Addressed

According to a recent release, the clinic offers comprehensive services for a wide array of liver-related issues, including:

  • Acute and chronic liver disease
  • Fatty liver disease
  • Cirrhosis and its complications
  • Liver tumours and cancer
  • Hepatorenal syndrome
  • Paediatric liver conditions
  • Pre-transplant and post-transplant evaluations

This broad scope ensures that patients receive tailored treatment plans, from initial assessment through to advanced transplant considerations, all within a convenient local setting.
