In a significant boost to healthcare infrastructure in East Champaran, a state-of-the-art critical care ward is being built at Motihari Sadar Hospital. This major project, with an estimated cost of Rs 13 crore, aims to bring advanced emergency treatment facilities to the district, comparable to a standard Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
A Major Boost for Emergency Medical Services
The new critical care unit is designed to drastically improve the handling of serious medical emergencies in Motihari. Civil surgeon Dr. Ravi Bhushan Srivastav emphasized that the facility, equipped with modern medical technology, will be a game-changer for this border district. Once operational, the ward will be equipped to provide life-saving interventions for patients in critical condition, reducing the need for referrals to distant medical centers.
Expanding Capacity and Comfort
The upcoming ward will have a substantial capacity of 50 beds, significantly enhancing the hospital's ability to cater to a larger number of serious cases. Alongside this development, a separate, fully air-conditioned ward dedicated to senior citizens is also set to become functional at the hospital soon, addressing the specific needs of the elderly population.
Furthermore, the hospital's infrastructure is seeing comprehensive upgrades. A new modern hospital building is currently under construction and is expected to be completed within the current year. This expansion indicates a holistic approach to improving medical services in the region.
Enhanced Care for Mothers and Children
In a move to support maternal health, the hospital has also constructed a new shed for its mother and child care unit.
