Punjab's Health and Family Welfare Minister, Balbir Singh Sidhu, laid the foundation stone for a new Arogya Kendra in the village of Bara Pind, Jalandhar. The initiative is part of the state government's efforts to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in rural areas.
Key Features of the Arogya Kendra
The upcoming Arogya Kendra will be equipped with modern medical facilities, including an outpatient department, diagnostic services, and a pharmacy. It aims to provide primary healthcare services to approximately 25,000 residents from nearby villages.
Government's Commitment to Health
Speaking at the event, Minister Sidhu emphasized the state government's commitment to ensuring accessible and affordable healthcare for all. He stated that the Arogya Kendra would reduce the burden on district hospitals by offering basic medical services locally.
The project is expected to be completed within six months. Local residents expressed optimism, noting that the facility would save them time and travel costs for medical consultations.
