Telangana's TIMS Sanathnagar to Launch with Fully Digital Hospital System
TIMS Sanathnagar to Open with Digital Hospital Management System

Telangana Government Prepares TIMS Sanathnagar for Inauguration with Advanced Digital Systems

In Hyderabad, the Telangana government is accelerating efforts to ensure the upcoming TIMS Sanathnagar facility opens with state-of-the-art, fully digitized systems. This 1,000-bed hospital is set to revolutionize patient care through a comprehensive electronic hospital management information system (e-HMIS), as directed by Health Minister Damodar Raja Narsimha.

Seamless Digital Integration for Enhanced Patient Services

The e-HMIS platform is designed to provide hassle-free services from outpatient registration to discharge. It will seamlessly link all critical departments, including registration, consultation rooms, laboratories, pharmacies, operation theatres, wards, and billing. This integration enables real-time coordination across the hospital, improving efficiency and reducing delays.

Each patient will receive a unique hospital ID, under which all medical interactions—such as consultations, diagnostic reports, prescriptions, treatment plans, surgeries, and follow-ups—will be digitally recorded. This system eliminates physical files, minimizes duplication and loss of records, and ensures data storage complies with central government standards and security norms.

Urgent Preparations for Timely Launch

Minister Narsimha recently reviewed progress at TIMS Sanathnagar, which is scheduled for inauguration on Ugadi, March 19. He has ordered officials to complete pending civil works, equipment installation, and trial runs by the second week of March to guarantee that services are operational from day one.

Officials report that significant milestones have been achieved: 16 operation theatres are ready, advanced diagnostic equipment—including CT, MRI, and digital X-ray machines—has been installed, and the cath lab is in its final stages. Additionally, organ transplant operation theatres are set to undergo trial runs soon.

Benefits of the Digital Transformation

The implementation of this digital system offers numerous advantages:

  • Improved Patient Experience: Streamlined processes reduce wait times and enhance convenience.
  • Enhanced Data Management: Digital records ensure accuracy, accessibility, and security.
  • Operational Efficiency: Real-time coordination across departments boosts hospital productivity.
  • Compliance and Standards: Adherence to central government guidelines ensures high-quality care.

This initiative underscores Telangana's commitment to leveraging technology for better healthcare outcomes, setting a benchmark for other hospitals in the region.
