Fake Doctor Apprehended After Two-Month Manhunt

Ujjain police have finally arrested a woman posing as a doctor who had been evading authorities for nearly two months in a case involving an illegal clinic operation and the tragic death of a newborn. The accused, identified as Taiyaba Sheikh, was captured from Jansapura lane in Ujjain, bringing closure to an intensive search operation.

The Tragic Incident That Sparked the Investigation

According to Gamarsingh Mandloi, the in-charge of Panwasa police station, the case originated on March 9 when authorities registered a complaint following the suspicious death of a newborn within the Panwasa police station jurisdiction. The investigation revealed a heartbreaking sequence of events that exposed the dangerous practices of an unqualified medical practitioner.

The tragedy unfolded when Mala, a pregnant woman residing in Sadawal village, was taken by her family members to Khushi clinic located in Pandyakhedi for delivery. At this facility, Taiyaba Sheikh conducted the delivery procedure, but due to apparent medical negligence, the newborn infant tragically died.

Exposing the Medical Fraud

Following the incident, a thorough inquiry was conducted by the chief medical and health officer of Ujjain, which uncovered shocking truths about the accused's credentials. The investigation confirmed that Taiyaba Sheikh did not possess any valid medical degree for practicing obstetrics or allopathic treatment, exposing her as a complete fraud in the medical field.

Further revelations showed that the accused was operating not just one, but two medical facilities illegally. She ran both Khushi Clinic and Ashirwad Medical and Surgical Clinic without proper registration, putting countless patients at risk through her unqualified medical practices.

Legal Action and Clinic Closure

Based on formal complaints, the medical team registered a separate case against Taiyaba Sheikh at Panwasa police station on October 9. Taking immediate action against the threat to public health, authorities sealed both clinics operated by the accused, preventing further potential harm to unsuspecting patients seeking medical care.

The arrest concludes a nearly two-month period during which the fake doctor remained absconding, avoiding law enforcement while the investigation continued to uncover the extent of her medical fraud and the circumstances leading to the infant's death.
