Rubina Dilaik Recalls Dark Phase After First Breakup

Television actress Rubina Dilaik recently shared a deeply personal account of one of the most challenging periods of her life. During an episode of her podcast, Kisi Ne Bataya Nahi, the Bigg Boss 14 winner reflected on the aftermath of her first breakup. She described being emotionally devastated and financially unstable, often crying endlessly during that difficult time.

A Dark Phase Lasting Two Years

Rubina revealed that she went through a dark phase for almost two years after her first breakup. "I was deeply surrounded by sadness and financially broke. It felt extremely heavy," she said. She would wake up at night crying, disconnected from friends, and chose not to inform her parents to avoid worrying them.

Struggling with Daily Life

The actress admitted that even simple tasks felt overwhelming. "Even something as simple as taking a bath or making breakfast for myself felt extremely difficult then. But I slowly started appreciating those little victories," she shared. She would tell herself, 'Okay, I took a bath today, that's enough,' or 'In the evening, I'll at least cut some cucumbers and tomatoes for myself.'

Finding Solace in Buddhism and Her Pet

During this period, Rubina turned to Buddhism, chanting for hours without direction, holding onto hope. She also found comfort in her pet dog, Romeo. "He would quietly sit beside me, circle around me, and even sit near my feet whenever I cried. The unconditional love and comfort he gave me were beyond words," she recalled.

Choosing to Become a Victor

Rubina realized she had two choices: stay a victim or become a victor. "I couldn't see the light ahead, but I decided to take baby steps," she said. This mindset shift helped her gradually overcome the darkness.

Embracing the Struggles

Now, Rubina sees that phase as transformative. "If that dark phase had not come into my life, I wouldn't be the person I am today. We become who we are because of the struggles and darkest moments we survive," she concluded.
