Ahmedabad hits 40°C, monsoon likely from June 23

Ahmedabad recorded a maximum temperature of 40°C on Saturday, which was 2.1 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature settled at 29°C, 1.4 degrees above normal. Relative humidity stood at 61% at 8:30 am and dropped to 36% by 5:30 pm.

Monsoon Update

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the northern limit of the southwest monsoon remained at Harnai and Solapur in Maharashtra for nearly a week. Conditions are now favourable for its further advance from June 23 onwards.

Weather Systems

The Met department reported a trough extending from north Telangana to the east-central Arabian Sea, crossing the cyclonic circulation over Gujarat and surrounding areas. A Western Disturbance continued to influence northern India.

Temperature Forecast

The IMD forecast indicates no major change in maximum temperatures for the next seven days. Some areas may experience light to moderate showers in the coming days. Only three cities in the region—Ahmedabad, Rajkot, and Surendranagar—recorded 40°C. Overall, the region experienced partly cloudy weather.
