Ranchi: A Hyderabad-based research driven organisation, Resplice Autism Research Foundation, will organise a day-long free gut health assessment and microbiome testing camp for autistic patients on May 31, to raise awareness about autism in Ranchi.
Expert Insights on Autism
Dr. Chandrashekhar Thodupunuri, founder chairman of the research organisation, stated on Wednesday that the increasing incidence of autism over the past four to five decades is a major concern. He highlighted that emerging scientific insights suggest the bioaccumulation of agrochemicals and 'forever chemicals' (persistent artificial chemicals) may be a significant contributing factor to autism.
Reducing exposure and detoxing these substances among couples planning pregnancy could play an important role in lowering autism risk. Additionally, autism patients often suffer from numerous gut health related issues. To initiate an informed dialogue among patients and their family members, the camp will be organised on May 31.
