Tragic Gas Leak Fire Claims Woman's Life in Hyderabad
A devastating fire triggered by a gas leak claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman in Hyderabad's Yusufguda area on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred at a two-storey building in Rahmath Nagar around noon, leaving the local community in shock.
How the Tragedy Unfolded
According to fire department officials, the catastrophe struck when the victim's mother was cooking in their ground floor kitchen. Fire authorities suspect that a malfunctioning regulator on an LPG cylinder caused the gas leak, which suddenly ignited into flames.
The rapid flare-up caught the victim, identified as Sonu, completely by surprise. The flames immediately engulfed her clothing, leading to fatal injuries. The fire then spread quickly throughout the ground floor area.
Rapid Fire Spread and Emergency Response
The blaze intensified rapidly, burning curtains and numerous household items before firefighting teams could intervene. P Sai Reddy, the station fire officer (SFO), provided crucial details about the incident timeline.
"The fire originated on the ground floor of the G+1 building and continued for approximately 20 minutes before we managed to bring it under control," stated Reddy. A fire tender from the nearby Jubilee fire station was immediately dispatched to the location.
Aftermath and Investigation
Sonu's parents, Gopal Singh and Lalitha Bhai, sustained minor injuries during the terrifying incident. Both were promptly transported to Gandhi Hospital for medical treatment and are currently recovering.
Local authorities have registered a fire accident case at the Madhuranagar police station, and a comprehensive investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the LPG cylinder malfunction.
