LG Sinha Urges J&K Residents to Pledge for Organ Donation

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday urged the residents of the Union Territory to take a pledge for organ donation, emphasizing its potential to save countless lives. Speaking at an event organized by the J&K Health Department and the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO), Sinha called upon people to come forward and donate organs after death.

Addressing Myths and Misconceptions

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted that there are several myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation that need to be dispelled. He said that organ donation is a noble act that can give a new lease of life to those suffering from organ failure. Sinha also appreciated the efforts of the health department and NOTTO for creating awareness about organ donation in the region.

Call for Collective Action

Sinha emphasized that organ donation is not just an individual decision but a collective responsibility. He urged religious leaders, community heads, and civil society members to spread awareness about the importance of organ donation. The LG also announced that the administration would work towards strengthening the infrastructure for organ transplantation in J&K.
