The National Pulse Polio Immunisation Campaign in Ludhiana district has achieved significant progress, with over 1.2 lakh children vaccinated in the first two days. Health Department teams conducted intensive house-to-house visits to ensure no child under five years of age was missed. A total of 1,20,046 children received the life-saving polio vaccine on Sunday and Monday.
Health Officials Praise Public Support
Civil Surgeon, Ludhiana, Dr Ramandeep Kaur, expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support from parents and the tireless efforts of Health Department teams. She urged parents whose children had not yet received polio drops to ensure they are vaccinated and to cooperate fully with health teams visiting their homes. This collaboration is essential to achieve 100% coverage and protect every eligible child.
Intensive House-to-House Campaign
District Immunisation Officer Harpreet Singh confirmed that Health Department teams are conducting door-to-door visits in both urban and rural areas to vaccinate children who missed the booth activity. The campaign is being closely monitored to meet the target of complete immunisation. The teams include ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, volunteers, and officials from various departments, all working tirelessly to make the campaign a success.
Dr Ramandeep Kaur also thanked parents for their active participation and cooperation. The campaign's progress highlights the community's commitment to eradicating polio and ensuring the health of the youngest residents.
