On Saturday, a day before International Yoga Day, hundreds of residents assembled at KD Singh Babu Stadium in Lucknow for a large-scale yoga camp. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak joined the participants and performed various yoga asanas. The event drew people of all age groups, who wore yellow T-shirts and traditional attire, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

The mass yoga session was part of preparations for International Yoga Day, which this year carries the theme 'Yoga for Healthy Ageing'. It was organized by the Mamata Charitable Trust. Participants engaged in breathing exercises, stretching routines, and basic postures aimed at enhancing physical and mental well-being.
River Yoga 2026 Campaign Continues
Meanwhile, the ongoing River Yoga 2026 campaign at Kudiya Ghat on the Gomti river continues to attract participants. This 10-day programme is organized by the Gomti Task Force in collaboration with the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU). It combines yoga sessions with awareness initiatives focused on river conservation.
Linking Personal Well-being with Ecological Responsibility
Professor Venketesh Dutta, head of the department of environmental science at BBAU, stated that the initiative links personal well-being with ecological responsibility. Major Kanwardeep Singh Nagi of the Ecological Task Force Battalion (Territorial Army), 39 Gorkha Rifles, noted that the campaign aims to strengthen people’s connection with the river. Officials highlighted that the campaign has evolved into a community effort promoting both health and environmental awareness.
