As part of the Paryavaran Pakhwada observance, young eco-explorers from Sharda Sarvhitkari Model Senior Secondary School in Chandigarh immersed themselves in nature to discover the green treasures around their campus. The event, reported by Tribune News Service, saw Class VI students actively participating under the guidance of teacher Rajneesh.
Plant Identification and Scientific Names
The students explored the school campus and identified various plants, learning their scientific names. Among the species studied were Tinospora cordifolia (commonly known as giloy), false Ashoka, and areca palm. This hands-on activity aimed to deepen their understanding of local flora and foster a connection with the environment.
Inspiring Video Presentation
The celebration was further enriched by an inspiring video presentation titled 'Save Environment,' delivered by Priyanka. The presentation encouraged students to become conscious guardians of the planet, reinforcing the importance of environmental stewardship.
