Prayagraj: As part of the ‘Gangotri to Gangasagar’ special series leading up to the 12th International Yoga Day, a grand yoga countdown event was organized at Dashashwamedh Ghat, Daraganj, here on Monday.

Organized by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (Ministry of AYUSH) in collaboration with the Railway Passenger Safety and Amenities Association and the National AYUSH Mission (Uttar Pradesh), the event witnessed participants enthusiastically practice the common yoga protocol, conveying the message of a healthy body, a calm mind, and holistic well-being to the masses. The confluence of yoga and meditation also offered immense peace and energy.
Director General of AYUSH (Uttar Pradesh), Chaitra V., was the chief guest of the event. Around 850 people practiced yoga together under the ‘Common Yoga Protocol’ (CYP) and pledged to lead a healthy life.

On the occasion, Chaitra V., the State Nodal Officer for the event, said that the ‘Gangotri to Gangasagar’ journey—an inspiring voyage of culture and unity passing through Haridwar, Varanasi, Patna, and Hooghly—is an effort to weave together environmental conservation, river culture, and public participation. This yoga event represents a unique confluence of Indian culture, spirituality, and modern health consciousness.
