Sonakshi Sinha's Haircare Secret: Mom-in-Law's 'Champi' & Natural Oils
Sonakshi Sinha shares her natural haircare routine

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has opened up about her surprisingly down-to-earth approach to haircare, emphasizing natural remedies and the comforting tradition of a head massage, or 'champi', from her family. In a recent candid revelation, the star shared the toll constant styling takes and her return to basics for maintaining healthy locks.

The Comfort of Home and Family 'Champi'

While filming outdoors in Delhi's intense heat, Sonakshi expressed feeling drained and tired. It was during such taxing times that she misses the pampering she receives back home in Mumbai. "When I am in Mumbai, my mother-in-law gives me a 'champi' (head massage). And earlier, my mom used to give me a champi," she shared, highlighting the emotional and physical comfort these family rituals provide.

Battling Bollywood's Heat and Extension Damage

Sonakshi was quick to point out the harsh reality of hair maintenance in the film industry. She revealed that she currently is not wearing any hair extensions, a conscious choice given their damaging effects. "We wear a lot of hair extensions for work, which can be quite damaging because they are clip-ons. Hair breakage can happen," she explained.

She detailed the constant assault from styling tools that actors endure daily: "We keep using tongs all day. We keep blow-drying. We keep straightening. So, a lot of heat damage, especially to an actor's hair because your hair is exposed to all this daily. So it's not very cool."

Sonakshi's Natural Haircare Philosophy

Her solution to counter this damage is a back-to-basics regimen. "Use oils, a good conditioner, a nice shampoo, nothing too heavy on chemicals," she advised. A self-professed lover of all things natural, Sonakshi ensures her shampoo and conditioner are gentle formulas.

Not fond of sticky hands from applying oil, she found a handy solution online: a scalp massager gadget. "Whenever I'm oiling or putting any serum by myself, I make sure it seeps into my scalp with the help of this," she said. While she's unsure about the gadget's red light therapy, she vouches for the relaxing quality of the massager.

For her oil treatments, Sonakshi is trying a potent mix. "I picked up a mix of rosemary, bhringraj, and biotin hair oil. All three ingredients are very good for hair growth, I've heard, and I'm giving it a shot," she stated. She uses an applicator tip for a mess-free application, targeting just the scalp and avoiding the lengths of her hair.

She also emphasized massaging the often-neglected ends of her hair, noting it feels good and promotes circulation.

The 'Less is More' Mantra

Ultimately, Sonakshi Sinha's haircare philosophy is beautifully simple. "My hair care routine is very basic... I always believe that less is more. If you don't mess with your hair or skin too much, they'll always be nice to you," she concluded, offering a piece of advice that resonates far beyond the glitz of Bollywood.
