Akal Takht Jathedar Announces Commemorative Events for 300th Martyrdom Anniversary
In a significant religious development, the officiating jathedar of the Akal Takht, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargaj, has unveiled comprehensive plans to honor the 300th martyrdom anniversary of Bhai Tara Singh Ji Wan. The announcement came following a crucial meeting held on Friday with preachers, dhadi performers, and kavishars from the Dharam Parchar Committee in Amritsar.
Extensive Arrangements by SGPC
Addressing mediapersons after the meeting, Giani Gargaj revealed that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has made extensive and meticulous arrangements to commemorate this historic centenary. The religious leader emphasized the importance of honoring the legacy of Bhai Tara Singh Ji Wan, whose martyrdom holds profound significance in Sikh history.
Convergence of Nagar Kirtans and Gurmat Programs
As part of the commemorative efforts, multiple nagar kirtans (religious processions) will be organized from various villages across the region. These processions will converge at village Wan in Tarn Taran district, creating a powerful display of collective devotion and remembrance.
From March 11 to 14, the village will host large-scale gurmat religious programs designed to educate, inspire, and unite the community. These events will feature traditional Sikh music, spiritual discourses, and community prayers, all aimed at preserving and promoting the teachings and sacrifices of Bhai Tara Singh Ji Wan.
