Suttur Seer Applauds Women's Remarkable Progress on International Women's Day

Suttur mutt seer Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami, speaking at an International Women's Day celebration in Mysuru on Tuesday, observed that women today are excelling in every field imaginable. He emphasized that women have convincingly proven their capability by successfully leading roles ranging from small-scale industries and agriculture to large international corporations.

From Household to Global Leadership

The seer noted that historically, women were largely expected to focus on household responsibilities and the education of children. However, he pointed out that the situation has transformed dramatically in contemporary times. Today, women are effectively balancing demanding professional careers while simultaneously playing a leading and crucial role in managing family responsibilities, showcasing exceptional multitasking and leadership skills.

Academic Excellence Highlighted

During his address, Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami specifically praised Keerthana, a rural student and BSc gold medallist. He stated that her outstanding achievement serves as a powerful demonstration of how sheer dedication and relentless hard work can enable students to succeed brilliantly, even when they study in government institutions. The seer further revealed a significant trend in higher education, noting that in many university convocations across the country, nearly 80% of gold medallists are women, with a substantial number of these high achievers hailing from rural backgrounds.

Felicitations at the Event

The International Women's Day celebrations were organized by the women's wing of the All India Veerashaiva Lingayat Mahasabha at Rajendra Bhavan in Mysuru. As part of the program, two accomplished individuals, Brinda Suhas Godhi and the aforementioned gold medallist Keerthana, were formally felicitated for their remarkable achievements and contributions, symbolizing the broader success of women in society.

The seer's remarks underscored a significant societal shift, celebrating the expanding horizons and undeniable successes of women in both traditional and modern spheres, from local communities to the global corporate stage.
