Uttar Pradesh's Republic Day Tableau Clinches 2nd Prize in Popular Choice Category
In a proud moment for the state, Uttar Pradesh's Republic Day tableau has been awarded the 2nd prize in the popular choice category at the Republic Day parade held in New Delhi. This achievement underscores the state's consistent excellence in showcasing its cultural and developmental narratives on the national stage.
Thematic Brilliance and Cultural Fusion
Based on the theme 'Samriddhi ka Mantra – Atmanirbhar Bharat', the UP tableau masterfully blended Bundelkhand's rich cultural heritage with the state's modern development journey. The visual narrative was designed to highlight the synergy between tradition and progress, drawing widespread appreciation from spectators and officials alike.
The tableau featured prominent elements such as rock art and the Ekamukha Lingam from the iconic Kalinjar Fort, reflecting the region's ancient spiritual and cultural identity. Additionally, it showcased Bundelkhand's traditional crafts, including pottery, bead work, and handicrafts, offering a glimpse into the area's artistic legacy.
Award Ceremony and Recognition
The award was presented at a ceremony held in Delhi on Friday, where Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth handed over the citation and memento to Additional Director of the UP Information and Public Relations Department, Arvind Kumar Mishra. This recognition adds to Uttar Pradesh's impressive track record in the Republic Day tableau competitions.
Notably, this marks the 7th consecutive year that Uttar Pradesh has received recognition for its Republic Day tableau. In previous years, the state has secured top honours across both jury and popular choice categories, including 1st prizes in 2021, 2022, and 2025, as well as 2nd prizes in multiple editions.
Competitive Landscape and Participation
A total of 30 tableaux from 17 states and Union Territories, along with 13 ministries and departments, participated in this year's Republic Day parade. The event served as a platform for diverse regions to display their unique cultural and developmental stories, with Uttar Pradesh's entry standing out for its thematic depth and visual appeal.
The tableau's success is a testament to the state's commitment to promoting its heritage and growth initiatives on a national scale. It not only celebrates Bundelkhand's historical legacy but also aligns with the broader vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat, emphasizing self-reliance and sustainable development.
