In a significant push to enhance Buxar's appeal as a tourist hub, Bihar's Minister of Tourism, Arun Shankar Prasad, personally inspected multiple development projects in the district on Friday. The on-site visit was aimed at reviewing the progress of ongoing schemes and proposals designed to firmly place Buxar on the state's tourism map.
Focus on Infrastructure and Timelines
During his detailed inspection, the minister examined various works being executed under the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC). His review covered critical infrastructure, including developments at the prominent Ramrekha Ghat, a proposed tourism restaurant, and the approach roads leading to key sites. Expressing clear concern over both project deadlines and construction quality, Minister Prasad issued direct instructions to the executive engineer of BSTDC, Patna. He mandated that all ongoing projects must be finished within their stipulated timeframes while adhering to high standards of construction.
Spotlight on Ramrekha Ghat's Transformation
A key highlight of the inspection was the newly installed light and sound project at Ramrekha Ghat. This initiative is intended to narrate and illuminate the deep religious and historical significance of the site for visitors. Looking at the broader vision, the minister directed the departmental architect to draft a comprehensive proposal for the beautification and further development of Ramrekha Ghat. The objective is clear: to transform this location into a premier tourist destination for the entire region.
Government's Commitment and District-Level Coordination
Arun Shankar Prasad reiterated the state government's full commitment to promoting tourism in Buxar. He assured that all necessary steps would be taken to accelerate development works and significantly improve facilities for visitors. Echoing this sentiment, Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) of Buxar, Niharika Chhavi, stated that tourism development in the district is being undertaken in a meticulously planned manner. She emphasized that continuous monitoring at the district level ensures proper coordination among different departments and helps in the timely execution of all projects.
The minister's hands-on review signals a focused drive by the Bihar government to unlock the tourism potential of its historic districts, with Buxar receiving dedicated attention for its cultural and religious sites.
