A fresh push for experiential tourism is seeing numerous homestays curate community-led Holi celebrations that allow visitors to engage with local customs beyond just playing with colors.

Anshul Bundela, who operates a homestay in Vikrampur near Chanderi, noted the rising popularity of village-style celebrations: "Celebrating festivals in a village setting with authentic local taste is becoming increasingly popular. We formed a committee of local villagers who perform traditional dances and songs. We're offering dal tikkad and other local cuisine to provide guests with a genuine experience."
Uma Pathak from Ladhpurakhas village in Orchha reported a significant increase in tourist enquiries this year: "We've formed village groups to help each other cater to guests. Everyone contributes through cooking, arranging cultural programs, or guiding visitors. This represents a wonderful opportunity to earn income while showcasing our rich cultural heritage."
