Kochi: Director of Enforcement Directorate (ED) Rahul Navin arrived in Kochi on Thursday. He is set to chair a meeting of ED officials on Friday, sources said.
Visit Amidst Protests
The director's visit comes close on the heels of violent protests against ED officials during raids in connection with alleged financial dealings between Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL) and Exalogic, the firm belonging to Veena T, leader of opposition Pinarayi Vijayan.
Violent Demonstrations
The ED action led to strong protest by CPM across the state, with the protests in Thiruvananthapuram turning violent as workers vandalized the officials' vehicle.
