Pakistan Raises India Human Rights Issue with EU

Pakistan has stated that it raised the issue of human rights in India during discussions with the European Union. The announcement was made on Thursday, with Pakistani officials emphasizing their commitment to addressing what they describe as human rights violations in the region.

Diplomatic Engagement with EU

According to a statement from Pakistan's foreign office, the matter was brought up in recent diplomatic engagements with EU representatives. The officials highlighted concerns over the situation in Indian-administered Kashmir and other parts of India, alleging systematic human rights abuses.

Pakistan also reiterated its stance on the Kashmir dispute, calling for a resolution based on United Nations Security Council resolutions. The country has long advocated for the implementation of these resolutions, which call for a plebiscite to determine the region's future.

Kashmir Issue at Forefront

The Pakistani delegation stressed that a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir issue is essential for regional stability. They urged the international community, including the EU, to play a more active role in facilitating dialogue between India and Pakistan.

This development comes amid ongoing tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. India has consistently rejected Pakistan's allegations, maintaining that its human rights record is sound and that Kashmir is an integral part of the country.

The EU has not yet officially responded to Pakistan's statements. However, the bloc has previously called for restraint and dialogue between India and Pakistan.
