BJP's Ravindra Chavan Calls for Transparent Governance in KDMC Elections
BJP Rally in Kalyan East Sets Tone for Civic Polls

Ahead of the crucial Kalyan–Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a significant workers' rally in Kalyan East on Tuesday evening. The gathering, aimed at galvanizing the party cadre, saw state president Ravindra Chavan making a strong appeal for public support to bring what he termed as transparent and people-oriented governance to the civic body.

Chavan Sets Election Agenda, Invokes Modi-Fadnavis Model

Addressing a packed audience of party workers and citizens, Chavan set the tone for the upcoming polls. He drew parallels between the governance models at the national and state levels and the vision for the municipal corporation. "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Maharashtra, the country and the state are witnessing transparent governance," Chavan stated. He emphasized that this successful model must now be replicated at the civic level in Kalyan–Dombivli.

Chavan directly appealed to voters, urging them to support BJP candidates in the elections scheduled for the 15th. "For a transparent administration in the KDMC, it is essential to support the BJP in the upcoming elections. We want to establish the same model of governance here," he asserted, reminding attendees of the party's slogan, "Parliament to Panchayat, 100 per cent BJP."

Focus on Local Civic Issues in Kalyan East

During the convention held in the 100 Feet Road area of Kalyan East, Chavan shifted focus to pressing local concerns. He acknowledged that Kalyan East is a densely populated zone with long-standing aspirations for permanent housing. To address this, he stressed the need for policy-driven decisions and housing schemes like SRS projects through the Mahayuti alliance.

Beyond housing, the BJP leader outlined a development agenda for the area, which included:

  • Ensuring a reliable 24-hour water supply.
  • Developing wider and better roads.
  • Improving connectivity with major arterial routes.

He positioned the BJP as the key to accelerating the city's overall development.

Senior Leaders and Workers Mobilize for Polls

The rally witnessed a strong show of strength with the presence of several senior BJP leaders. Notable figures who attended included veteran leader Jagannath Patil, MLA Sulabhat Tai Gaikwad, and newly elected Ambernath Municipal Council president Tejashree Karanjule-Patil. Other prominent faces were BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha state general secretary Shashikant Kamble, BJP Kalyan district president Nandu Parab, former MLA Narendra Pawar, and former district president Narendra (Nana) Suryavanshi.

A large number of party workers and local citizens, with significant participation from women, attended the program, reflecting the party's grassroots mobilization efforts.

Final Push for BJP Victory in Civic Polls

Concluding his address, Ravindra Chavan issued a clarion call to the party's rank and file. He urged them to intensify their outreach efforts on the ground to ensure a decisive victory for BJP candidates. Chavan framed the upcoming KDMC election as a critical choice for voters, stating that a BJP-led civic body is the only pathway to transparent governance and rapid urban development in the twin cities of Kalyan and Dombivli. The rally effectively marked the formal launch of the BJP's aggressive campaign for the municipal corporation elections.
