The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially announced the schedule for the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Electoral Rolls for the year 2026 in Mandya district. The revision process is set to be carried out over a period spanning from June 20 to October 7, 2025. Deputy Commissioner Kumara called upon all political parties to actively and responsibly participate in this exercise to ensure a transparent, accurate, and inclusive electoral roll.
Meeting with Political Parties
Addressing a meeting of presidents, vice-presidents, and office-bearers of various registered and recognized political parties held on Monday, Kumara stated that the ECI issued directions on May 14, 2025, for conducting the Special Summary Revision. The meeting was convened to brief political party representatives on the revision process and their crucial role in ensuring its success.
Detailed Schedule of the Revision Process
According to the schedule provided, preliminary training for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be conducted from June 20 to June 29, 2025. Following this, from June 30 to July 29, BLOs will undertake house-to-house visits to distribute and collect enumeration forms. Voters will also have the option of submitting their forms online for added convenience. Proposals for rationalization of polling stations must be submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer by July 29.
The draft electoral roll will be published on August 5, 2025. From August 5 to September 4, claims and objections can be filed, and their disposal will continue until October 3. The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on October 7, 2025.
Important Clarifications for Voters
Kumara clarified that voters who fail to submit signed enumeration forms may find their names omitted from the draft roll. However, they can apply for inclusion during the claims and objections period by furnishing one of the 12 prescribed documents. He added that BLOs will visit households at least three times to ensure maximum voter coverage and minimize omissions.
