This year, the city welcomes 4,060 new Gen Z voters who will exercise their right to vote for the very first time. In total, 4,94,711 voters are anticipated to cast their ballots on Thursday.

Historical Voter Turnout Trends in Kolhapur

Administration's Efforts to Boost Participation

This year, the administration is optimistic about achieving a high voter turnout once again. These efforts aim to create voter awareness and address confusion related to the four-member ward formation, which requires voting four times.

Key activities conducted include:

  • Human chair formation
  • Voter awareness rallies
  • Matdan Doud events
  • Street plays
  • Prabhat pheri processions
  • Essay competitions
  • Rangoli competitions
  • Letter-writing competitions

Manjulekshmi expressed hope that this year's voter turnout will exceed the 70% mark set in 2015. The administration's proactive approach focuses on engaging all voters, especially the new Gen Z participants, to ensure a successful and participatory election process.
