NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has alleged massive manipulation in the results of the CBSE Class 12 examinations, claiming that the OSM contract awarded to a company called Globarena was a scam. He stated that the company had a murky past and had changed its name from COEMPT after its similarly poor performance in Telangana in 2019 and 2023 had resulted in a large number of student suicides. Amid the trauma of lakhs of students and their families, he criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for having "no answers, no accountability, and no shame."
Rahul Gandhi Demands Judicial Probe
Rahul Gandhi demanded an independent judicial probe and a special investigation team to unearth the truth behind what he termed an "entire scam." He said, "This was all public information. It was known to everybody, and yet for some hidden reason, the CBSE chose the same company again. It took us 30 seconds to figure out that this company was earlier called something else. I am absolutely certain that the people in the CBSE and in the central government were aware of this company's background." He further added that the nature of the relationship between COEMPT and the Modi government should be investigated.
NEET Paper Leak Protest
Continuing with the opposition protest over the NEET paper leak, Rahul Gandhi met with the family of NEET aspirant Pradeep Meghwal, who committed suicide in Sikar, Rajasthan. The Congress leader visited the NSUI office in the Lutyen's zone, where he, along with NSUI president Vinod Jakhar and AICC functionary Kanhaiya Kumar, spoke with Pradeep's family members. Posting photographs on X, Rahul said, "Pradeep's death was not suicide - it was the consequence of a broken, corrupt system." He added, "Those who handed the examination system over to mafias, and who are still clinging to their chairs today - the Modi-Pradhan duo is accountable to this family."
The allegations come amid widespread protests by opposition parties over the NEET paper leak and alleged irregularities in various examinations. The Congress party has been demanding a thorough investigation into the matter and accountability from the government.
