Bus Services Resume to Iragapalli Village After Decade-Long Gap in Kalaburagi
In a significant development for rural connectivity, bus services to Iragapalli village in the Chincholi taluk of Kalaburagi district resumed on Monday after a gap of more than a decade. This long-awaited restoration has brought immense relief to the local villagers, who had been grappling with transportation challenges for years.
Villagers Celebrate with Decorations and Prayers
When the first Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) bus from the Chincholi depot arrived in Iragapalli, residents enthusiastically decorated the vehicle with banana leaves and offered prayers to mark this joyous occasion. The festive atmosphere underscored the importance of this service renewal for the community.
Decades of Struggle Due to Damaged Road
Villager Nyamat Patel highlighted the severe difficulties faced by residents, explaining that there had been no bus service to Iragapalli for decades. The primary reason was the completely damaged road from Koradampalli on the Raichur–Vanmarapalli state highway-75 to the village. This lack of connectivity posed significant hardships for villagers and schoolchildren alike, affecting daily commutes and access to essential services.
Ministerial Intervention Leads to Road Repair and Service Resumption
The issue was brought to the attention of Minister Sharan Prakash Patil, who took proactive steps to address the problem. He initiated road repairs and instructed officials to resume bus services, demonstrating effective governance in responding to public needs.
Official Efforts by Depot Manager
Following the minister's directives, depot manager Suresh Kumar Tegalathippi conducted a thorough survey and submitted a detailed proposal to higher authorities. His efforts culminated in obtaining the necessary route permission, which enabled the successful restart of bus services to the village.
Gratitude and Celebrations
Villagers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Minister Sharan Prakash Patil and depot manager Suresh Kumar Tegalathippi for addressing this long-standing issue. As part of the celebrations marking the resumption of bus services after decades, the community felicitated driver Prakash, conductor Malappa, and Sulepet bus station controller Shivarama Reddy Bhaktampalli, acknowledging their roles in this achievement.
