DC Orders Parking Zone Near Hazaribag Lake to Ease Traffic

Hazaribag: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hemant Sati on Monday directed district officials to develop a parking zone adjacent to the Hazaribag Lake to ease traffic congestion in the area. Sati inspected the lake, one of the oldest and most popular public places in the city, along with Municipal Commissioner Om Prakash Gupta. During the inspection, it was observed that random parking by visitors near the lake was causing severe traffic congestion. The DC then instructed the concerned officials to utilize the vacant land near the lake to create a proper parking zone.

Measures to Improve Traffic Flow

Sati also asked officials to identify roadside fish vendors operating in an unregulated manner near the lake and relocate them to the designated fenced vending zone. This move aims to remove roadside encroachment and improve traffic flow around the lake premises. Emphasizing the lake's importance, Sati stated, “Hazaribag Lake is a major attraction of the town.” He stressed the need for systematic traffic movement and a clean environment in the area.

Background

The Hazaribag Lake is a historic and popular spot, drawing numerous visitors daily. Unregulated parking and vending have long contributed to traffic snarls and safety hazards. The new parking zone is expected to accommodate more vehicles and streamline entry and exit points. Additionally, the relocation of vendors will reduce congestion and enhance the aesthetic appeal of the lakefront.
