The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has requested all states and Union territories to nominate IAS officers for a structured mentorship and knowledge-sharing interaction at the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, on Ekta Diwas (October 31). This initiative follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's suggestion during the national conference of chief secretaries in December last year, where he urged senior and veteran civil servants to motivate younger officers by visiting the Statue of Unity and spending a day with them annually on this date.
