As monsoon rains continue to challenge Gurugram's drainage infrastructure, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has activated a 24x7 helpline to allow residents to report waterlogging and other civic problems for faster resolution. The helpline numbers are 1800-180-1817, 0124-4753555, and 9870201817, operational round the clock. Complaints can also be filed via WhatsApp at 7840001817 by sharing details and photographs of the affected location.
Helpline Operational Throughout Monsoon
GMDA Chief Executive Officer PC Meena stated that the dedicated helplines will remain active throughout the monsoon season. Call centre executives will be available 24x7, specifically to receive and register waterlogging complaints during rainfall. Once a complaint is registered, it is immediately forwarded to the concerned department and field teams for action and resolution, officials said.
Multiple Channels for Grievance Redressal
Residents can also give a missed call to 9873353224, after which a call centre executive will call back to register the grievance. Complaints can be lodged through the GMDA Complaint Handling System portal, via email at services.gmda@gmail.com, or through the ‘myGurugram’ app. The integrated system covers complaints pertaining to GMDA, Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), and Municipal Corporation of Manesar (MCM), offering a single platform for civic issues.
Scope of Complaints
The grievance redressal mechanism is not limited to waterlogging. Residents can report issues related to water supply, sewerage, stormwater drains, roads, sanitation, solid waste management, and other civic infrastructure and municipal services. According to GMDA, the integrated complaint handling system is designed to provide a simple and accessible platform, enabling real-time complaint monitoring, improved coordination among civic agencies, and quicker field response.
Urgent Need Amid Monsoon
The round-the-clock system has been activated amid heightened concerns over waterlogging during the monsoon, with several parts of Gurugram reporting flooded roads and traffic disruption following recent spells of rain. “Timely reporting will help the departments concerned respond swiftly, undertake necessary corrective measures and ensure uninterrupted civic services during the monsoon season,” Meena said.
