In a significant move to modernize governance, the Haryana Revenue and Disaster Management Department launched Bhu-Mitra on Saturday. This innovative WhatsApp-based chatbot is designed to provide round-the-clock assistance to citizens seeking land and revenue-related services, making government interactions more accessible, transparent, and efficient.
Accessible and User-Friendly Platform
Financial Commissioner Sumita Misra highlighted that Bhu-Mitra leverages the widespread use of WhatsApp in Haryana, offering a smart, conversational interface. Citizens can now avoid the hassle of visiting government offices or navigating complex online portals. With just a few taps on their smartphones, they can access essential services from home at any time, day or night.
Comprehensive Service Offerings
The chatbot currently supports four core revenue services:
- Copy of Jamabandi: For land ownership and cultivation records.
- Copy of Mutation: For changes in land ownership.
- Compensation Registration: For related requests.
- Deed Registration: For property deed assistance.
Additionally, Bhu-Mitra facilitates:
- Deed token generation.
- Land demarcation requests.
- Complaint registration for land and revenue grievances.
- Real-time complaint status tracking.
How to Access Bhu-Mitra
Citizens can use the service by saving the WhatsApp number 95933 00009 and initiating a conversation. The chatbot is available 24/7, 365 days a year, and supports seamless interaction in both Hindi and English, ensuring inclusivity across urban and rural areas.
Future Enhancements and Benefits
Misra emphasized that by integrating services onto WhatsApp, the department aims to eliminate bureaucratic delays, reduce physical visits, and empower citizens with real-time information. Starting next week, all SMS related to deed registration will be delivered through Bhu-Mitra, providing timely updates directly via the chatbot. Further services are planned for integration in the coming weeks, expanding digital governance and citizen convenience.
