Hyderabad Mayor Issues Directives to GHMC for Swift Implementation of Development Projects

In a significant move to accelerate urban development, Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi has issued clear instructions to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials. During the 11th general standing committee meeting held on Thursday, the mayor emphasized the need for immediate operationalization of all completed development works across the city.

Key Directives for Project Completion and Inauguration Protocols

Mayor Vijayalakshmi directed GHMC officials to ensure that pending infrastructure projects are completed without any further delays. She stressed the importance of timely execution to enhance the city's amenities and public services. Additionally, the mayor mandated that corporators and public representatives must be included in all inauguration programmes for development works, promoting transparency and community involvement.

Approval of Multiple Projects and Proposals

The standing committee meeting proved to be highly productive, with the approval of 21 key projects. Furthermore, eight table items were introduced during the session, out of which six received the committee's approval. Two proposals were recommended to the council for further consideration and final approval, indicating a thorough review process.

Infrastructure and Administrative Sanctions Granted

Several crucial infrastructure and administrative proposals were greenlit during the meeting. Notable approvals include:

  • Administrative sanction for storm water drainage systems in Sanathnagar and Fatehnagar areas.
  • Development of a 36-metre-wide road to improve connectivity and reduce traffic congestion.
  • Extension of the ATSC traffic signal maintenance contract to ensure smooth traffic management.
  • Renovation works for the Moula Ali Road Over Bridge (ROB) to enhance safety and functionality.

Technological Advancements and CSR Initiatives

The committee also cleared proposals aimed at modernizing municipal operations through technology. Key initiatives include:

  1. Development of a GIS platform for better urban planning and management.
  2. Implementation of QR-code-based mobile applications to facilitate citizen services.
  3. Introduction of face-recognition biometric attendance systems for improved workforce management.
  4. Deployment of a new Human Resource Management (HRM) application for streamlined payroll and pension processes.

In addition, maintenance of parks, central medians, and traffic islands under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs was approved, highlighting a focus on environmental sustainability and public aesthetics.

Honoring Legacy Through Naming of Public Spaces

Among the various items cleared, the committee approved naming Bathukammakunta Park after V Hanumantha Rao. This decision reflects the city's commitment to honoring notable personalities and preserving their legacy through public memorials.
