Indore Municipal Corporation Clears Hazardous Cables for Rangpanchami Gair Procession
IMC Removes Low-Hanging Cables for Rangpanchami Gair Route Safety

Indore Municipal Corporation Proactively Secures Rangpanchami Gair Procession Route

In a significant safety initiative ahead of the traditional Rangpanchami Gair celebrations, the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) executed a specialized drive on Tuesday to eliminate hazardous and low-hanging cables along the historic procession route. This proactive measure aims to secure the path for the lakhs of participants expected to join the festivities, ensuring a seamless and safe celebration.

Focus on High-Traffic Stretch for Initial Phase

IMC Commissioner Kshitij Singhal emphasized that the primary objective of this operation is to remove physical obstructions that could pose risks during the crowded event. "The move aims to eliminate physical obstructions and ensure a seamless celebration for the lakhs of participants expected to attend the historic event," Singhal stated. He detailed that the first phase concentrated on the high-traffic area between Vijay Chat House square and Sarafa police station, where disorganized wires and cables were identified as potential hazards.

Under the supervision of Sub-Engineer Prince Bhardwaj and his team from Zone 2, authorities systematically targeted multiple locations where cables were hanging low enough to endanger the procession. The team carried out the removal of unnecessary and dangling wires, also addressing barriers that could snag on festive floats or lead to electrical hazards.

Long-Term Safety Measures Implemented

To prevent the recurrence of such issues, the IMC has implemented ongoing strategies. Teams have been assigned to conduct regular inspections and continuous monitoring along the route. This ensures that disorganized cables are not reinstalled in the future, maintaining safety standards beyond the immediate festival period. The commissioner highlighted that this drive is part of a broader effort to enhance public safety during major cultural events in Indore.

The initiative reflects the municipal corporation's commitment to proactive urban management, prioritizing citizen welfare during large-scale gatherings. By addressing these hazards beforehand, the IMC aims to foster a secure environment for all attendees, preserving the cultural significance of the Rangpanchami Gair procession while mitigating potential accidents.
