Indore District Administration Clears LPG Backlog with Special Holiday Drive

In a significant move to address a mounting LPG cylinder backlog, the Indore district administration kept all gas agencies operational on a public holiday this Sunday, successfully delivering 24,450 cylinders to consumers in a single day. This special drive was initiated under the directives of Collector Shivam Verma, targeting a backlog of approximately 50,000 cylinders that had accumulated across the district.

Coordinated Effort Halves Waiting List

By mobilizing all 106 gas agencies in the district, the administration managed to reduce the waiting list by half within just one day, ensuring the supply chain remained stable and uninterrupted. District Supply Controller ML Maru highlighted that officials from the Food and Civil Supplies department were deployed in the field from early morning, conducting inspections and resolving real-time delivery challenges to facilitate smooth operations.

"Oil company representatives played a pivotal role in maintaining the supply," Maru stated. "Officials from HPCL, BPCL, and IOCL ensured that all 106 agencies received a continuous flow of cylinders from bottling plants. As a result, 24,450 domestic cylinders were delivered in just a day, clearing a significant portion of the backlog."

Administration Assures Timely Deliveries

The district administration has issued a statement reassuring consumers that all refills will be delivered within three days of booking, urging citizens not to succumb to rumors or panic. "There is ample stock of domestic LPG cylinders available across all agencies in the district," the statement noted. "Supplies from the bottling plants are arriving daily in sufficient quantities. Every consumer will receive their cylinder within the stipulated time frame based on their booking."

This proactive measure underscores the administration's commitment to public welfare, especially in ensuring essential commodities like LPG are accessible without delay. The successful execution of the holiday drive not only alleviated immediate supply concerns but also set a precedent for efficient crisis management in utility services.
