Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Appoints 299 Officials to Strengthen Women and Child Welfare
In a significant move to bolster the state's social welfare initiatives, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday presided over a formal ceremony at Project Building in Ranchi. During the event, he personally handed over appointment letters to a total of 299 newly recruited officials, marking a pivotal step towards enhancing the operational capacity of the women, child, and social welfare department.
Key Appointments to Drive Grassroot Implementation
The newly appointed personnel include 62 Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) and 237 women supervisors. These officials are set to be deployed across various wings of the department, with a primary focus on improving the execution of welfare schemes at the village level. The ceremony was attended by key government figures, including State Finance Minister Radha Krishana Kishore and Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, underscoring the administration's commitment to this initiative.
Addressing Malnutrition as a Top Priority
In his address to the inductees, Chief Minister Hemant Soren emphasized that malnutrition among women and children remains one of the most pressing concerns in Jharkhand. He highlighted the critical role these officials will play in tackling this issue directly at the grassroots. "All the newly appointed personnel should collectively resolve to eradicate the problems of malnutrition from the state," Soren stated, urging them to take ownership of the government's efforts.
He further explained that while the state government is actively undertaking numerous initiatives to address the challenges faced in rural areas, the responsibility now shifts to these officials to ensure proper and transparent implementation. "The responsibility now lies on your shoulders to ensure that the schemes are implemented properly and with full transparency to get the desired results," the CM added, stressing the importance of accountability in achieving tangible outcomes.
Ensuring Support for Effective Duty Discharge
To facilitate their work, Hemant Soren assured that the government is committed to providing all necessary facilities for both contractual and regular staff. This support aims to enable them to discharge their duties effectively, thereby increasing the overall efficiency of the department. The move is expected to streamline welfare programs, ensuring they reach the intended beneficiaries without delays or discrepancies.
By appointing these 299 officials, the Jharkhand government aims to create a robust framework for women and child welfare, directly addressing malnutrition and other social issues through dedicated personnel at the local level.
