Karnataka Government Rolls Out E-Pass System for Republic Day Celebrations
The Karnataka government has launched a new e-pass system for citizens who want to attend the 77th Republic Day celebrations. The event will take place at the Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground in Bengaluru on January 26.
How to Apply for the E-Pass
Bengaluru City District Magistrate G Jagadeesh announced the details. Interested individuals can apply for e-passes through the Seva Sindhu portal. The application window opens on January 14 and closes on January 24 at 5 PM.
Applicants must provide required personal information on the portal. The website address is www.sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in.
Pass holders need to present either a printed copy or a digital version of the e-pass at the entry gate. Verification will occur at gate number 5 of the parade ground.
Karnataka Science and Technology Academy Honors Two Senior Scientists
The Karnataka Science and Technology Academy presented lifetime achievement awards to two distinguished scientists on Tuesday. The ceremony recognized their significant contributions to science and technology.
Ramakrishna, former director of the Zoological Survey of India, received an award. The academy honored him for his outstanding work in science and technology.
Sreemathi Hariprasad, a former scientist at the Central Food Technological Research Institute, also earned an award. She was recognized for promoting science, technology, engineering, agriculture, and medicine in the Kannada language.
School Bus Accident in Kolar District Injures 15 Students
A school bus accident near Kudiyanooru in Malur taluk, Kolar district, left fifteen students with minor injuries on Tuesday. The bus skidded off the road and fell into a gorge.
The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. This caused the bus to overturn and plunge into the gorge.
The bus belonged to Bose Vidhya Samsthe in Kudiyanooru. It was transporting students to school at the time of the incident.
Kemapiah, the block education officer of Malur, confirmed these details. Officials stated that nearly twenty-five students were on board the bus. The students ranged from UKG to class 10.
All injured students sustained minor injuries. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
