Mandya District Assured of Uninterrupted Domestic LPG Supply
In a decisive move to quell public concerns, Mandya Deputy Commissioner Kumara has categorically assured residents that there is no disruption in the supply of domestic cooking gas across the district. He has strongly urged the public to avoid panic and not fall prey to baseless rumors regarding potential shortages.
High-Level Meeting with Gas Distribution Companies
Chairing a crucial meeting at the DC's office with sales officers from major gas distribution companies—Hindustan Petroleum, Bharat Petroleum, and Indian Oil—Kumara issued clear directives. He emphasized that all agencies must strictly adhere to government guidelines while supplying domestic LPG cylinders. The DC stressed the imperative for companies to ensure that cooking gas supply remains consistently aligned with daily demand throughout Mandya district.
Currently, 34 LPG distribution agencies are operational in Mandya district, according to official statements. Kumara has instructed officials from the food and civil supplies department to conduct regular field inspections. These inspections are aimed at verifying stock availability and ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Strict Legal Action Against Malpractices
The Deputy Commissioner issued a stern warning, stating that strict legal action would be taken against any agency or individual found involved in illegal activities. This includes illegal sales, diversion of cylinders, or black marketing of LPG. He directed distributors to prioritize cylinder supply to consumers based on advance bookings and in strict accordance with established distribution norms.
Clarifying the current operational status, Kumara confirmed that the daily supply and distribution of domestic cooking gas in the district is functioning smoothly without any interruption. "There is no shortage of cooking gas in Mandya district. Residents need not worry or create unnecessary panic about availability," he asserted.
Priority Supply for Essential Institutions
In addition to public supply, Kumara instructed officials to ensure that essential institutions receive priority in LPG cylinder allocation. This includes anganwadis, schools, hospitals, and government hostels, to guarantee that their routine activities continue without any disruption due to fuel shortages.
The meeting was also attended by Superintendent of Police VJ Shobharani, Deputy Director of the Food Department Prateek Hegde, and LPG distributors from various taluks across the district, underscoring the collaborative effort to maintain supply chain integrity.
