The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, has approved a substantial financial outlay exceeding Rs 29,540 crore aimed at the state's overall development and public welfare. The decisions were taken during a cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.
Key Approvals for Programme Evaluation and Infrastructure
The cabinet sanctioned Rs 15,598 crore for the evaluation of publicly funded programmes, schemes, and projects. This move is expected to enhance transparency and effectiveness in the utilization of public funds.
Additionally, Rs 6,900 crore was approved for the construction and strengthening of urban and city roads across the state. This investment aims to improve connectivity and reduce traffic congestion in major cities.

In a significant step for social welfare, the cabinet approved Rs 6,116 crore for the pension of senior citizens living below the poverty line. This initiative will provide financial support to the elderly and ensure a dignified life.
Healthcare and Education Infrastructure
The cabinet revised its earlier approval of Rs 763.40 crore for the establishment of MBBS, nursing, and paramedical colleges in Budhni. The revised amount will be utilized to expedite the project and enhance medical education facilities in the region.
Irrigation and Agriculture
For the agricultural sector, the cabinet approved Rs 163.95 crore for the Khumansingh Shivaji Reservoir Micro Irrigation Project in Neemuch district. This project is expected to boost irrigation efficiency and support farmers in the region.
Administrative and Policy Changes
The cabinet increased the discretionary grant amount of state ministers to Rs 25,000, empowering them to address local needs promptly.
For infrastructure projects, the cabinet approved price adjustment in road works valued below Rs 10 crore and monthly rate revision in MPRDC EPC and HAM projects. This will ensure timely completion and cost management.
In a notable decision, the cabinet exempted the multilevel parking project near Jabalpur High Court from departmental index calculation, facilitating its early execution.
