Muruganatham Appointed Additional Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation

Nagpur: M Muruganatham formally assumed charge as the additional commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Thursday. Commissioner Itankar welcomed Muruganatham, a 2020-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, and presented him with a painting by tribal artists.

An engineering graduate, Muruganatham brings with him administrative experience from several key postings across Maharashtra. Before taking charge in Nagpur, he served as assistant collector and sub-divisional officer in Chandrapur. Muruganatham also held the position of project officer for the Integrated Tribal Development Project in Chandrapur. Subsequently, he served as chief executive officer (CEO) of the zilla parishads in Gondia and Beed districts.

In his new role, Muruganatham will oversee various municipal functions and contribute to the development of Nagpur. His extensive background in tribal development and rural administration is expected to bring valuable insights to the corporation. The NMC aims to leverage his experience for improved governance and service delivery.
