Mysuru DC Urges Residents to Use Online Self-Enumeration for Census 2027
Mysuru DC Calls for Online Census Participation Ahead of 2027

Mysuru District Commissioner Advocates for Digital Census Participation

In preparation for the nationwide Census 2027, Mysuru District Commissioner Lakshmikanth G Reddy has issued a strong appeal to residents, urging them to actively engage with the government's newly introduced self-enumeration facility. This initiative is designed to modernize the census process by allowing citizens to submit their household details online through a secure web portal, thereby enhancing speed and convenience.

Key Dates and Process for Self-Enumeration

According to the district administration, the official house-listing and housing census operations in Mysuru district are scheduled to begin on April 16. Prior to this, the government has established a 15-day voluntary self-enumeration window from April 1 to 15. During this period, citizens can digitally provide their details before enumerators initiate their door-to-door visits.

Residents interested in utilizing this facility can access the official portal at se.census.gov.in and complete an online questionnaire. The self-enumeration process involves answering 33 questions related to house-listing and housing information, covering aspects such as household structure, amenities, and other relevant demographic data.

Benefits and Verification System

Upon successful submission of the information, the system will generate a unique reference ID, which will be sent to the respondent via SMS and email through the portal. This reference ID acts as confirmation that the household details have been submitted online. When census enumerators visit homes during the field survey starting April 16, residents who have completed the self-enumeration can simply present this reference ID. This allows officials to quickly verify the information and finalize the process without repeating the questionnaire.

However, officials have clarified that if the reference ID is not produced during the enumerator's visit, the official will be required to conduct a full interview from the beginning, asking all necessary questions to ensure accurate data recording.

Emphasis on Efficiency and Cooperation

In his statement, District Commissioner Lakshmikanth G Reddy emphasized that the self-enumeration option is specifically designed to save time, improve efficiency, and reduce delays throughout the census operation. He called upon citizens across Mysuru district to maximize the use of this online facility and actively cooperate with the administration to ensure a smooth and successful census conduct.
