Andhra Pradesh CM Advocates for Technology-Driven Governance Reforms
In a significant move to modernize administrative processes, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has called for an extensive integration of advanced technologies into governance frameworks. During a high-level review meeting held in Vijayawada on Monday, Naidu emphasized the urgent need to leverage technological tools to alleviate the burden on field-level staff across various departments.
Focus on Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics
The Chief Minister specifically highlighted the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics in transforming decision-making processes. "By harnessing AI, we can make governance more responsive and efficient," Naidu stated. He urged officials to prioritize technology-driven approaches that utilize readily available data to enhance speed and accuracy in public service delivery.
Naidu's vision includes declaring 2026 as the 'technology-driven decision-making' year, setting a clear timeline for the adoption of these innovations. He directed all departments to explore AI tools that could expedite the resolution of public grievances, ensuring quicker and more effective outcomes for citizens.
Review of Real Time Governance Society and Service Platforms
The meeting also involved a comprehensive review of the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) and its role in streamlining service delivery. Officials reported significant progress, noting that 878 government services are currently accessible through the Mana Mitra-WhatsApp governance platform, which has already served 1.43 crore people.
To sustain and build on this momentum, Naidu stressed the importance of regular performance audits and continuous training for departmental staff. "Training and audits are essential to ensure that our technological investments yield tangible benefits," he remarked, underscoring the need for accountability and skill development.
Cross-Departmental Implementation and Future Directions
Beyond the RTGS, the Chief Minister reviewed the functioning of key departments, including:
- Health
- Agriculture
- Revenue
- Roads and Transport
- Fire Services
Naidu's directive aims to create a cohesive, technology-enabled ecosystem across all sectors, reducing bureaucratic delays and improving operational efficiency. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to position Andhra Pradesh as a leader in digital governance, leveraging AI and analytics to address complex administrative challenges.
As the state moves forward, the focus will remain on integrating cutting-edge technologies to enhance public service delivery, ensuring that governance becomes more transparent, efficient, and citizen-centric.
